This past week felt like another step forward—one of those weeks where the small choices start to stack up and the body begins to remember what it’s capable of.
I got back into my drill runs on Tuesday and Thursday, and both sessions felt smoother than the week before. Thursday especially surprised me. My form felt better, my breathing settled in early, and even though my legs weren’t perfect, they felt like they were finally waking up. The biggest difference showed up in the first three-quarters of a mile—last week that section felt long, heavy, and slow after the four-mile run. This week it clicked. Momentum, finally.
The weekend run was its own mental battle. It was raining off and on all day—the kind of weather that makes it incredibly easy to say, “I’ll just do it tomorrow.” That little voice showed up right on schedule. But the more I listened to it, the more I knew that was exactly why I had to get out the door. By the time I laced up and started running, the rain backed off into a sprinkle and then stopped completely. It turned into a peaceful two miles plus a magic half-mile push—just enough effort to feel alive without feeling overwhelmed.
This week also brought something special: a package of Rock CF swag from Emily—shirt, hat, stickers, neck gaiter, the whole deal. It came over the weekend, and honestly, it hit at the perfect time. Several people have already donated to the Rock CF fundraiser, and receiving that gear reminded me why I’m doing this in the first place. It’s fuel for the comeback and encouragement from people who believe in the cause and in the journey.
As always, I’m grateful—grateful for the progress, for the support, for the chance to rebuild, and for the consistency that only comes one decision at a time. Some weeks are loud. Others are quiet. This one was steady—and sometimes steady is exactly what you need.
Here’s to another week of forward movement. Step by step, breath by breath, mile by mile.
